Dr Helen Meese, CEO The Care Machine Ltd will talk about the fascinating history of engineering in healthcare and how new innovations in technology are helping us to live longer and healthier lives
14.30 -15.30 Virtual Reality in Healthcare
Thomas Day, Research Assistant, University of Chester, will speak on how virtual environments can be used in medical applications such as training clinicians, rehabilitation of patients and prectice of essential skills.
16.00 -17.00 Materials to shape our vision: how advanced materials are fighting the loss of sight.
Prof. Rachel Williams, University of Liverpool, will provide an insight into how engineering materials combined with ophthalmic prowess are helping to fight sight loss.
18.00 – 20.00 How might engineering and technology help to address our aging population issues.
Dr Helen Meese will be our ‘Fiona Bruce’ chairing this ‘Question Time’ style debate, regarding the use of technology to help solve (or perhaps hinder) some of the region’s aging population issues.
